Well after a few days of roaming the site and reading up on the new and old post i started my first all night pork butt and brisket smoke at about 6pm last night. thanks to the knowledge i gained from everyone on the forum i am confident it will turn out alright. its 9:03am and the brisket is at 163 the pork butt is at 170 and they're looking gooooood.

i just recently got into smoking and im hooked. im from san diego california and besides my new hobby i love riding in the desert, fishing & hunting, even though ive only been hunting a couple of times and hangin with family and friends. i make my living as a machinst and been doing that since highschool, im 23 years old and will have plenty of time to perfect my que. well anyway just thought i'd do the whole introduction thing hopefully this pic i have works so i can show you what you've tought me.

thanks to everyone

Welcome RTG -

This is the quest for the perfect BBQ and it's never ending. There's always something new and existing right around the corner. Enjoy!

Hello and thanks for joining us at the SMF. Looks as if you've got a lead on the game. By the way, my initials are R.T.G also, and I love the San Diego area. One of my favorite eateries is Casa de Pico, evenn though they have moved from Ol' Town.

thanks for the welcoming guys and theres sure to be a lot of questions as i still have a LOT to learn.
