New old smoker restoration question.

Discussion in 'Charcoal Smokers' started by bbq beginner, Jul 17, 2015.

  1. I recently was given an older brinkman smoke n' grill charcoal smoker . Its in somewhat rough condition the main shell is in good shape just some surface rust (nothing sand paper cant fix ) the grates and water pan are fine however the charcoal bowl/basket is rusted out and must be replaced can i possibly make a new one , if not where can i buy a replacement. My final question is what  what kind of paint do i need to use i am wanting to do blue but if it doesn't come in that color its fine i am assuming i need a high temp paint, Any advice is appreciated.

                                                                                                                                                               Thanks, Giles

Go to an automotive supply store and ask for
Engine block paint. It is rated to 1500degrees
    And comes in many colors.
  3. Thanks for the advice i will do that today.
