Hello all,
I am David from northwest Ohio, Decided to join, I have been lurking and using this site for reading reviews for quite some time now. I am not at all new to smoking. I have used traditional offsets, charcoal in a barrel, charcoal bullets, electric bullets, open pits, gas fired cabinets, and even an old refrigerator. I just got a brand new MES 30 stainless with window to replace my Bradley original that was stolen. I absolutely loved that little Bradley. It was my go to guy when I did not have time to babysit. After reading several post to do with Bradley vs. MES, I decided to give the MES a try. I will say the only reason the MES was an option is because my beautiful wife Holly ordered me one for Christmas. Well, bad luck decided to cave in the door and force a return. All good, we got another after some reading. I am finding the MES to be a pain. So far everything, and every opinion about the MES's smoke generation has been true. On my third cook with it and I can barely get chips to burn at 225 deg. No worries, after reading the comparisons between the AMNTS and the MES cold smoke generator kit, I am just going to get both. I feel the MES will give me functionality similar to the Bradley, and the AMNTS will give me a true cold smoke. All of those that say the Bradley biscuit feeder is over done, well the MES needs add on equipment to be functional. The added expense of the biscuits does kinda stink, But you just cant put a price tag on a smile from a loved one when they bite into some amazing BBQ. Smoking meat is a hobby, Hobbies are expensive. I am willing to bet the most of us have more expensive hobbies than this. Never fear, I wont be giving up on the MES just yet. I will be getting the smoke generators and looking forward to more experimental usages of a BBQ
Thank you all for the reading you have supplied me with and I hope all of you the best possible cooks.
