Wow, Amazon got it here quick!  Wasn't supposed to get here until after the 8th.

Got it together and it is doing it's seasoning cycle on the patio as I type.

Can't wait to try it out with a good dry rub chicken this coming weekend.

PH,

I plan on adding handles on mine for ease of moving & storage.  Any further insights after you did it?

Thanks

Update:

Went ahead and installed the 5 3/4" hand pulls with the included screws.  Measured so the handles wouldn't interfere with

the racks if I had to install long screws all the way thru the smoker wall,  But, the included screws seem to hold secure, just used a small starter hole.

My back thanks me for the installation.

PS:  The 30" did a great job of creating smoke when I seasoned it with 1 cup of chips (per directions).  I'll still want to use the AMNPS for longer smokes.

I've had my MES 30 for two years now and it remains both fun and a great investment. I've done no mods on mine. Since it's a Gen 1 30" I have mine bungee corded to a small hand truck and stored in my garage (I also keep it under its Masterbuilt vinyl cover. I wheel it out into either my front or my backyard when it's time to use it.

I think I smoked a brisket my first time out. What I love about my MES is that everything turns out great--unless I'VE made a mistake--and I'm eating real BBQ. Since there are no decent BBQ joints in town, I'm not missing anything because I'm making great BBQ at home.

sorry didn't see your PM

That's exactly the same way I did mine...right between the racks.  It makes a world of difference and with four screws per handle it has plenty of

holding power.  I have to go from the garage thru the family room and out the back door so it was the best option.

Glad it worked out for you!
