Hey ya'll. I'm Glenn from Apple Springs, Texas. Just retired, and want to learn how to make bacon, jerky, smoke hams ect... I've been reading the news letter for awhile but just found the forum. I want to make a smokehouse out of a old, all aluminun sleeper off of a 18 wheeler. Good idea or not? It's just a big aluminun box. It would be on cement slab. Do I insulate it and line it with wood? Any suggestions on a book or website with directions? Thanks in advance and glad to be here with ya'll.

Hi Glenn,
Welcome to the most informative smoking site around.
I like the idea of using the sleeper cab as a smoke house.
Never seen that one so you are stepping off into uncharted territory there.
Try to post up some pics of the sleeper and i'm sure someone here can come up w/ some ideas .
