Hi all! NEW member from northern ny 55 yr old male married 35 yrs to same woman 3 kids, 2 boys 1 girl, 7 grandkids.Hobbies include hunting fishing and anything outdoors.I love to cook and have my own homemade pig cooker that i can cook a 250 lb pig in around 12 hrs using wood and turning it at approx 2 turns / min.I do my own butchering and in the process of curing my own hams and bacons.This looks like a really great site and i look forward to learning a lot from here. JERRY

Sounds like you sure know what you're doing, looking forward to checking out your posts and any info you offer on butchering and curing.
Now that pig cooker, not sure if you read the fine print but new members with pig cookers are required to invite the entire SMF site up for a pig pickin

First off welcome Jerry to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Im a lot better at cooking than I am at computors but I'll try to get some pictures of my pig cooker and post them.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...
