Hello my name is Chuck and I reside in Miami. I have been grilling for years and only smoking I have done has been in my grill. I was very content with that until a friend name Jeff introduced me to smoked ribs. Brisket and pork butt. I was totally floored by his smoked meats and his jerky is the best I have ever tasted. So I started researching smokers and have it down to the Bradley digital and the masterbuilt. I am not sure if I need the bigger or will I be happy with their perspective smaller smokers. My friend is pro Bradley and sez bigger is better and the automatic pellet is the way to go. Can someone chime in and give me their opinions. Really appreciate any input

Richie. Thanks appreciate the message. Anyway I think I made up my mind and going to get the weber smoky mountain. Not sure whether the 18 or the 22. I'm just going to read up on forum cuz my only experience with baba is grilling and smoking was only with my little smoke box. So I am going to read up before my first smoke. Again thanks from Miami

Welcome from SC, Chuck. I hope you will enjoy this site. There are lots of folks who are eager to share ideas, tips, recipes or anything else that you need. All you have to do is ask. I think you will like the WSM. It's a good way to start. I had the 22 and I always recommend that size. If you have a smaller cook, use a charcoal ring from the 18 and it will concentrate your fire better. Other mods that are very helpful are handles on the mid section and a new therm with also digital grate and meat therms.

Good luck and good smoking, Joe

well thanks guys, I figured I would try with the weber first. A buddy wants me to buy the Bradley digital 4 rack. He sez I would be really pleased with the simplicity of the electric on the Bradley or the masterbuilt.

Joe, I am considering the weber it's a little cheaper but it isn't the price. I just figured that it would be a good place to start. I'm sure that once I learn more about smoking I could always buy a electric smoker and try my hand out with one of those...
