My name is Kazuo, from Kauai,Hawaii. Thanks for having me. First time smoker. I got a smoke hollow that my wife got for me last xmas. Ive put it together and left it in our garage.I finally decided to start it. So im going to try it with some salmon this Friday. Ive tasted alot of smoke meat in my life but never my own.looked at some of the ideas thats been posted.everything looks good. Hard to decide on what will be my first marinade/ brine. Can anyone tell me about preping my smoker before I smoke anything?

Welcome. Now as for the grill, you will want to season the grill before cooking food in it. I would fire it up and let it smoke for 45 minutes to an hour with the lid closed. Then enjoy..
