I just bought my first smoker three weeks ago and am looking for advice on good smoking books. I presently own a grand total of (1) smoking book now. Smoke & Spice. I enjoy reading this book on smoking. I have seen some recommendations here. Peace, Love, and Barbecue seems highly rated. Also Paul Kirk's Championship barbecue book seems to be a favorite. Pig: King of the Southern Table is also recommended. I can't afford them all at once so suggestions would be appreciated.

So many of us save our money to buy books about curing and sausage making.  I believe you can get all the info you need about doing Q from us.   Low and slow is really simple with just basic rules and techniques.  A couple of basic rubs, knowing how to build and maintain a fire, when to wrap in foil and when not to, what internal temps we cook to ,  all that kind of stuff we can help you with.  I guess this is my way of saying I can't think of a BBQ book that I have seen recommended.  Seems like every semi-celebrity chef has made a BBQ book and they all tend to repeat themselves.

Why not try us out by asking a couple of cooking questions and see how we do.

I agree with Al 100% on that. Just ask any questions you can think of. We can walk you through just about any situation.
