Hello all...just a quick stop by...I have been bbqin fir over 15 years for friends and family and have decided to finally build my own smoker and try my hand at comps and catering...feel free to stop by, drink a beer and say hi

I'm a tower climber by trade and really didn't give to much thought on a clever bbq twist for my name :)
Warren is still warren but yea the dunes are awesome...me and the family are planning a weekend at the end of summer

Welcome to the forum from Lansing towerclimber.  And what a great forum it is to learn the art of smoking everything.

We have a Michigan group here.  http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/groups/show/27/michigan-members-group

If you get a chance check it out and please join if you have not done so yet.

We are going to have a Michigan get together this year and I hope you can make it.   There’s still time to get in the fatty throw down.

Glad to have you come.  The whole family is welcome too.  I will send you a PM with the details.  And even if your smoker is not needed we all want to see it.

I sent you a pm a few minutes ago...I will get back to you later this evening

well, I'm sure there must be a forum like that here somewhere, but not that I have found so far.. Sounds like you been smokin' a long time. What sort of smokers are you running?

I'm from Cincy originally and bunch of my family went to OSU so I have become a bit of a fan. Sort of hard to do that living up here in Massachusetts.

My sister (OSU) married a very nice guy from Columbus who went to college at Michigan. I'm not really sure how the co-exist ( LOL )

I started out using home depot specials to get started on... then I moved down to florida for almost five years and upgraded to a seven foot offset that I found on craigslist and rebuilt it. when I moved back to mi last year it was to big to bring with us so it was inherited by a friend of mine that spent a lot of time cooking me. im in the process of building a Jacks old south inspired water cooker now, with my own touches on it of course.

Im cooking on a charbroil offset form home depot now which is the reason im building my own...im tired of using low end smokers and im in Michigan to stay so I dont have to worry about moving it any farther than friends or family functions and bbq comps
