Hello all - I am a women from Maryland who has joined this site for my "gentleman friend".  I think I am too old to call him a boyfriend since we are both in our 70's. He and his brother love to hunt and fish. He owns several acres on the eastern shore of Maryland but he has lived in Colorado and Pa when he was younger.  Last year he went to Montana for Elk and before that to Canada for Moose.  He lives alone but enjoys smoking meat for the family.  He owns a Brinkman smoker and has decided that he would like to make Venison Bacon from his latest deer.  I went online to get a recipe.  There is a  company about 50 miles from us that smokes and sell venison bacon and we had some last year. WOW!!  We have also had turkey bacon but now he wants to try his hand at making his own.  I happened to see a post from "cowgirl" about a recipe for the spices and technique for his first time.  If she replies to this request I will share her email with him as well as the Newsletter.  He is not very computer literate so I will share the newsletter and other threads that might interest him.

Please be patient with us. We are new here.

Welcome aboard!! Not sure how much Cowgirl hangs out here nowadays. I believe she still participates a good bit over at the BBQ Brethren forum, so if you can't find her here maybe try over there. You could also try sending her a private message. Lastly, I believe she also has her own blog.
    Venison bacon sounds interesting.

    Welcome to SMF! :welcome:
We're glad to have you here. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here 😁)
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it. Thanks for joining,
    - Ryan
