Hey guys and gals...

Found this forum while searching for a recipe to smoke a rump roast. After exploring for a bit, I decided that y'all are my kind of people!!! I am new to smoking, but have been a fan of it all my life. I am using a Masterbuilt electric powered smoker. Looking forward to learning a lot more about this craft.

Good morning Smoke.

Welcome to SMF!  I'm right across the Amite in B.R.

I have used the Master built electric (MES)  for close to six years .

The MES smokes some great food. You will need to get a thermometer that you can check for accuracy as the MES    thermos are  notorious for  being off up to 20 degrees. Also to use the MES as is you will need to feed chips about every 45 min. If you get one of The AMNPS pellet smoke generators you can get 8 - 10 hrs of perfect smoke  without having to add anything .

Do not follow mfgs instructions  when using the unit. Run the exhaust vent fully open.

The folks here have done more R & D on the mes than the factory has.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me  . if i cant answer i know folks that can.
