Hello all. I decided to join the forum since I have already benefited from all of the experience here. I just bought my first smoker, other than a couple of the base brinkmans, a couple of months ago. I had only ever tried to actually smoke something once i when in my 20s. I am 50 now. I bought a MB electric smoker that will do 275. It has a built in meat thermometer and digital readout. My early successes have been venison backstrap, thanks to all of you, and deer jerky. Deer shoulder was tough and whole chicken was so-so. My next project is my first Boston Butt. I will be searching for more input. Looking forward to interaction with all of you.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.
David

Welcome Mikeaw. I also have a MB electric, a MES30, had it about a year and love it. I've done a few butts and they turned out great but took a lot longer than expected to get up to temp. I know now to allow extra time and hold it wrapped up in a cooler if necessary. Good luck and happy smokin', David.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a cloudy and chilly day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
