Hey everyone
Just joined the forum today. A little about me. I'm well into my 50's, been smoking meat for about 3 years, and still a babe in learning. 1st smoker was a cheap offset and that got me hooked. Next was a 30" propane which I felt was too small at times, especially when smoking full racks of ribs and whole briskets. I also had trouble maintaining temperature in varying weather. Next was a big trailer mounted reverse flow which I loved. Unfortunately I sold it because it was just too big for family dinner and sold the 30" because it was too small. The 1st one I had already given to my son. Now I really miss smoking my own food because it’s never quite good enough at the local BBQ joints. I have researched enough to decide to purchase the mes 40" Gen I, which I plan to go fetch tomorrow for $299 at a local outdoors retailer. Just mixed up a batch of Jeff's rub (bought the recipe a couple years ago and love it), and will be doing Baby backs on Saturday. Can almost taste em already, YUM!
