Hello. My name is Ron.

Several years ago, I owned a vertical smoker (New Braunfelds, I think), and I used it several times but then sold it to my neighbor when I realized I wasn't smoking much anymore. I had moderate success with it.

A couple of years ago, my gas grill fell apart so I've been grill-less for 2 years. This spring, I decided to buy a Brinkman Grill 'n' Pit. My thinking was that this would let me grill dogs and burgers (with charcoal, much better tasting than gas), plus I can use it to smoke as well.

I've grilled on it a few times and tomorrow I will be smoking a couple of racks of ribs. It's been a few years since I've smoked, but I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of it.

This forum is a great place for information. I've been lurking here for a few weeks.

We're looking forward to eating some ribs!!!

Welcome Ron to SMF. I used to live in KC myself years ago but moved out into the rural area. If you have not read up on the 3-2-1 method for those ribs, do a search and you will get great results.

Hey Ron,

Grill Less For 2 Years Is Crazy. Welcome. This Place Is Great Place To Sharpen Those Smoking Skills.
