Just joined. Found the site while doing some research on smoking meats. Classically trained as a chef, but just an average back-yard griller. Looking to perfect smoking on my homemade sausages. Looking forward to learning from this group.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

At least in my opinion, There are a bunch of great people involved in this forum. They have helped me out a bunch in my new hobby.

Make sure you sign up with a picture posting site like photo bucket or something, and send us some pictures (qview).

What part of Illinois are you from? Us flat-landers are getting popular here lately.

First off welcome to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

I'm in the near north shore suburbs... not too far from the Edens Expy. Like I said, just getting my feet wet with "serious" smoking, but heavily into sausage making, (see pics). Thanks for the kind welcome.

I'm north central about 40 miles north of Peoria
have several relatives in and around chicagoland and visit
up that way several times a year.
I too love sausage making!
