I bought a Great Outdoors stainless propane smoker yesterday off of CraigsList and I'm looking forward to jumping on the smoking bandwagon!

Venture - I have a Go Big Red frame around my license plate!

I'll check out the link for the acronyms tonight.

I found a local resource for all kinds of wood that I think I'll visit this weekend.  I have oak and mesquite but thought I'd get apple and alder to try some different flavors.  He advertises about a dozen varieties including wine oak taken from old wine barrels.

Thanks again.

Curt.

Okay folks, just bought a bunch of spare ribs for my first jump into the deep end.  I'm reading more than I can comprehend right now on smoking and really looking forward to getting things going this weekend.
