Hi I'm Leon from Rockford Illinois. I got a Camp Chef smoker vault 24 inch for Christmas last year and have used it about 15 times already. I've smoked several turkeys, whole chickens many different cuts of beef and pork and of course several batches of beef jerky. Everything has turned out really good so far. I'm really happy with the quality of the smoker. My only problem with it is that it's not insulated and I like to cook whole turkeys in the winter. I prefer to keep the temperature around 325 degrees. I have a welding blanket that helps to keep the temperature at 325 degrees in the winter time but it is fiberglass so it sort of itchy to use. I bought some of the Thermal felt rated at 1500 degrees and encased the outside of the smoker with it. I think it came out pretty good and can't wait to use it.:drool I love this forum. I have learned so much from the experienced users and the advice that they give to us less experienced.

Welcome from SC, Leon. It's good to have you on this site. It looks like you have you problem under control.

Good luck and good smokin', Joe
