I found this forum doing a search. I just got a MES from Sams that I've been eying for a year now. I've been smoking on my Jenn Air 3 burner, with several mods, for 4yrs now with great results. But always wanted an electric for less tending and lower heat, my Jenny is hard to get below 300deg during a long smoke. I'm not new to outdoor cooking. I've grilled, bbq'd, and smoked most every critter that swims, crawls, flies, or walks in the southeast (that is legal to that is). Got 2 butts rubbed and ready for the smoker this evening. Also have 2 chicks on the Jenny rotis now.

Welcome to SMF! I've got an MES and I love using it. It doesn't take a lot of babysitting and so I can do other things while it's doing its stuff.

I look at them everytime I go to Sam's. My friend did his first smoke last week on his and loved it. He did an Elk roast and some trout. I'm jealous. Good luck, I'm sure you'll love it. Question? Did you buy the extended warrantee? I called the factory and was told it had a 90 day warrantee and the element cost $130 for replacement. A 3 year extended warrantee from Sam's is only $39.00 and well worth it.
