I have just bought a newer masterbuilt 30 in. elec. smoker. I had a older 30 in. till  the heating element broke. I do like some of the changes in the new one but the smaller wood ship is so small compared to the older model is so small I do not get enough smoke. Any one else with this smoker have this problem or heard of some one that did. If so what was the fix to get more wood chip in the smoker to get more smoke. Any and all help would be great. Thanks in advance  Chris

You can call MB they may have a swap for that tray, you may also  want to look at the AMNPS it can give you 8 to 12 hrs of smoke

I just bought another MES, this time a 40. Had that dinky little chip tray. I called Masterbuilt, they sent me an entire refit. Easy to install. Took 5 mins maybe.

Folks at customer servive are really great to work with also! Hope it fixes ya up.

Bon Chance!

The MES makes good charcoal too.....!
limited airflow is the major culprit
