I drove up to Ben Lang's shop yesterday and picked up my new little Lang 48 Patio. Ben was wonderful about explaining how to season it and cook with it. He even gave me a nice tour of his shop, I'm trying to teach myself how to weld (MIG & TIG) so, he showed me his metal fabrication toys. WOW! What a nice shop he's got! I can't say enough good things about Ben and his smokers. His pride and quality workmanship are obvious. Any one thinking about a stick burner should consider one of his.

Getting the new guy tied down for the ride home.

The trip home was fun, at every stop people were walking up and checking out the smoker. On the way home, I was wondering how I was going to get this off the truck, it weighs 500-600 pounds. Luckily for me, as soon as I pulled into my driveway neighbors started coming over to check it out and helped unload, piece of cake with enough big guys. I can't wait to get it seasoned and try it out.

Very envious.

Showed my wife a pic of Lang60. She said it looked great so I told her all about it and that it only cost bout three grand. That doesnt seem too bad for a unit like that, she said. Maybe theres hope yet. If only my banker could be convinced so easily. Maybe I should take him some ribs or something.

Hang in there Smoke Freak! Don't give up! Of course I'll be doing "honey do's" for a year to pay for this but it's worth it. I got the 48 patio cause I usually cook for 30 people or less and they usually come to my house, I have two kegs on tap, so I didn't need a trailer model. I'm seasoning right now. Hope every one had a good weekend.

You wont be sorry. The 48 is a great little cooker. I have the mobile and have been smoking some great Q for several months now. Your friends will be begging for more. Take the time while seasoning to play with the fire box dampers and see what she will do. Congrats on the great cooker.

Congrats on a fine smoker enjoy it!!!

Thanks all! Daughter already asked "well now that you have that thing, can you cater my wedding?" Lots of fun smokes in the plans. Son coming home from the Navy on leave next week so, I need to get her ready to cook. He wants some home cooked meals.

Shooter Rick: could you tell me about the mods your planning for your 48?
