New in Michigan

Hey everyone, I'm Josh, i'm in Michigan and I am a total beginner. I've been reading the forums for the past few weeks before I decided to join.


I love BBQ and I've been wanting a smoker for awhile, but never pulled the trigger. I am pretty much a carnivore and my wife is a vegetarian, which yes I know there are things to smoke for her too, she just doesn't care for smoked things at all :(


So I have a MES 30 (thank you Walmart clearance for $45...) as far as I can tell it is a gen 2.5. 


So onward on the quest to make at least halfway decent bbq.
