Ordered my 24x36 wood smoker from Bell fab Saturday. My first smoker, will be able to pick up next Saturday. What is the best way to season the new smoker and for how long?
Wel;come to the SMF, and congrats on the new smoker. If the cabinet is meatl, spray it with PAM and Just smoke some wood in the cabinet for at least 3 hrs., and you should be ok. It's all good my friend.
Welcome to SMF CB! The easiest way to season a smoker is spray down the interior of the unit with unflavored PAM and build a fire in the box and let her go for a couple or three hours or so adding smoke smoke chips once the fire settles down to a glow.
Welcome Chigger, these guys gave you some good advice, just spray it down, you could use crisco but it is sooooo much easier to spray and it helps to make sure you don't miss a spot, then just burn away for a few hours.
