Hi all,

I have been looking at the MES fo about a year now. I have read a lot of bad reveiws about Masterbuilt, that is until I found this forum earlier this week. With all the info posted here I realizes the smoker I was reading about was not the somker I wanted to buy. I actully learned more here than I ever learned form the Masterbuilt website and from their customer serves departmant.

I took the plunge last night and bought the 40" MES (model 20070710) with window, and REPLACABLE element & controller. I preseasoned it last night: It reached 275°F in about 30 minutes and held the temp well (dead band is +/- 5°F). I added mesquite chips during the 50 minutes; it took a bit for the smoke to start, but I was happy with the smoke when it got going.

I really want to thank all the people here for the great collection of infromation.

I can't wait to do some ribs and chicken this weekend.

Mike

I own several smokers but lately my MES gets the most work out of the bunch .  Welcome to SMF and enjoy your MES.

Welcome Aboard from another mes user.

I just got off the phone with my wife. I asked her what she wanted me to cook this weekend.

She said steak.

My heart sank.

Thanks for joining us the SMF.I think you'll be happy with that new MES. I moved your thread to roll call, so that everyone will have the chance to say hello. It's all good my friend.

you can smoke just about anything as you will soon find out here.  Just because she wants steak, doesn't mean you can't smoke a side dish or even the steaks.

Welcome!!!!
