TACORICAN here from San Jose, CA looking to learn more about Smokers and more. I'm very new to this and the only grills I've ever used are the ordinary gas ones. At this time my purpose is to find a smoker that fits me and my budget!

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a wet, rainy and chilly day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome Tacorican... You have joined a great site. Folks are always eager to offer help with recipes, methods, tips, etc. but remember, there are as many opinions about smokers as there are smokers. You said that you have a budget. You also need to decide if you want to use wood, charcoal, propane, electric or whatever. Then decide the type of smoker will suit your needs. After that, try to fit quality into your budget and get the largest unit that fits. You can always use more room.

Good smoking, Joe

I'll second that,  good advice
