New here, advice welcome please!

New to the forum, and smoking. Long time griller though. Here's the scoop, just bought my first smoker, a WSM 18.5. Awesome unit! I'm going to be smoking a pair of 3 pound pork butts Monday morning, my first smoke, for a get together at the house. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated for this first time smoker so our meal is delicious. Thanks in advance. I've been reading on this forum for a long time so I know I'm in good hands!

Hello.  Welcome.  I see this is your first post.  Please take some time and swing over to Roll Call and introduce yourself so that we may give you a proper "Hello".  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  If you have been reading here for a while you should be good to go.  If you have a specific question then please ask and I a certain you will receive many different answers.  Keep Smokin!

I have a Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5. I live in Northeast Ohio. Just looking for some tips to cut down the learning curve. :-)

Start early, maintain a constant cooker temp.  Depending on the stall time and what time your planning to eat, i would start at about 10 hour before eating, putting the butts over heat.
