I'm somewhat new to the forum as well, my name is Brian and I'm a firefighter down in Florida. I've been smoking for a few years now and really love it, Just got a new smoker myself a 250 gallon propane smoker mounted on my old boat trailer. I love it and try to cook for any special occasion/party we have going on.
I was in the Marine Corps. for 8 years did two tours in Iraq and then got out as a Sgt. Loved it and miss it. Well thanks again for all help and I look forward to sharing some smoking ideas with you all as well

Welcome to the site Brian.
Congrats on the big 'ol smoker, would love to see some pics.
My thanks to you for not only saving lives as a firefighter but also for serving our country and putting your life on the line so we can all sleep soundly at night.
Happy smokes buddy.

Welcome to SMF Brian!!
Glad you decided to join us.
I too live in Florida, near Crystal River. I see that you are a Fire Fighter and I have to tell you a humorist thing while starting my Barbecue years ago. I worked as a meat cutter and was working the 2 to 11 pm shift. I was cutting some pork chops and came across a real nice pork loin so I cut myself some thick pork chops to put on the grill when I got home. I got home and wanted some time to unwind so there I was starting the fire in my grill and the flames went high. Some neighbor must have seen the fire and called the Fire Department. There I was sitting on my patio chair and began to hear a siren getting closer and closer. I just had the feeling they were coming to my place in Detroit. This guy comes up all dressed in his fire gear, ax in hand followed by another guy carrying a water hose! Only thing I could think of saying is, “I didn’t invite you guys to my barbecue”. I think I must have been in my twenties back then and that was many a year ago. But I still remember it. LOL
