Glad to have you as part of the SMF. Brian, what kind of grill/smoker did you buy?

Welcome aboard, bud! You have now joined a group that will stay with you for the rest of your eating days! Good smoking to you!

Welcome to the forum. You have found the right place. May all your smokes be thin and blue.

along with the 5 day e-course, there are a ton of other subjects listed to the left of this page in Jeff's "how to section". If you are a beginner. I highly recomend reading all of them.

There is a wealth of info available on these forums. You may experience information overload. I would recommend doing a little at a time, and smoke some foods often to keep the learning curve under control!

Welcome to the forum Brian! I'm with you, I could grill pretty good and thought that meant I could BBQ pretty good. I found this site and learned that I didn't know squat about BBQ. Grillin steaks is NOT BBQ!!! I have been smoking for a year now, and I have lit my grill exactly once since then - wife wanted some cheeseburgers. Tried to get her to let me smoke them, she didn't like the estimated time to get them on a bun.
