Hi everyone I'm a backyard family smoker. We live in sc I have a old country boys smoker and just finished my first competition here in sc. I had a blast even though it rained most of the night. For fun I do whatelse smoke meat I make jerky along with other things I play guitar some and mostly give my 4 almost five year old boy crap as any good father should

I'm doing it with my 3 sons and it's just a one day deal. We only entered the amateur contest of the Firin Up The Fox in St. Charles IL. this September. Only have to cook Ribs and Chicken.

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from another cloudy and windy day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

My sons are 17, 24, and 26 the only issue I'm having is mom wants the youngest that still lives at home to go to church that morning. He is the one really looking forward to it and he could miss the whole cook. We are all looking forward to it but him and I talked about it the most to start. He really likes helping with the smoker and learning how it works. The older ones do a lot of their own cooks and the oldest has one of my old smokers.
