Hi everyone my name is dan.  I just happened to stumble across this website and am very excited to join.  I got a smoker about 4 years ago and have been using it alot since.  I never  new a site like this exsisted.  I am already been reading for hours and and looking forward to try alot of tips u guys have.  I have strugled with making baby back ribs It seam like I havent even come close to making good ribs.  I am going to try the 3-2-1 technique maybe this weekend.  Well i look forward to meeting people and learning more on here.  And I would like to thank everyone in advance for the tips and help i will get from this site

Welcome aboard, Dan!

For baby backs, many here use the 2-2-1 method.  For spareribs, many use the 3-2-1. These are not set in stone, they are just a guide to give you a starting point.  There are many variations.

Good luck and good smoking.

Yes, welcome!

I agree with Venture, 3-2-1 for Baby Backs is generally too long.

Good luck,

Curt.

Welcome Dan

You might try the 2 2 1 with baby backs.  I watch for them starting to dry out before I foil them  Once in the foil with moisture I check for when the bone starts getting loose in the socket  I like my ribs very tender, fall off the bone.  Take them out of the foil and throw back on the smoker or grill with some of your favorite sauce until the sauce thickens up the way you like and the ribs firm up a bit.   I think they are done when you can twist the bone and pull it out cleanly.  Others like it with a bit more pull

Thanks for all the rsponses I am going to do the ribs on saturday for the bowls.  I will use the 2-2-1 and see how that does.  I will try to get some pic to share!   Does anyone have any suggestions on a good rub If not i understand

First off welcome to SMF there Dan. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course.
