Hi,  I just joined the forum and am fairly new to meat smoking.  I picked up a small smoker that works on the side burner of my gas grill last year.  I have done a few batches of jerky to try and get the hang of it and am interested in trying out few things I have seen on this site like the venison Canadian bacon.  The smoker is fairly cheap but I can keep the temp pretty steady under 200F.  I would like to try out a few excellent receipes so I can convince the wife to upgrade my smoker!

Welcome to SMF. There are a lot of very friendly & knowledgeable folks here to help you. I urge you to sign up for the free E-course. It will give you the basics, & even if you are an experienced smoker you may learn something new. Then start asking questions. Good luck & glad to have you aboard. Don't forget we all love Qview!   As far as the wife goes good luck with that, but if she tastes real good BBQ, SHE may buy you a new smoker.

Lots of good folk here so dont be afraid to ask questions.

All the qview pictures were enough to convince my wife that I indeed needed a decent smoker.  I ordered the Masterbuilt 7 in 1 stainless steel smoker (Wholesale sports) and have been waiting 11 days for it!!!!!  After getting off the phone with the customer service person (useless) I am thinking about canceling my order and ordering the Masterbuilt electric with digital display from Cabela's.  Thing is not sure how much the shipping will be to Canada.  I can get it for about $150 cheaper from the USA but not sure if I will pay an arm and a leg for shipping.  Can't take the waiting anymore!!!!!!!!  Any advice?  Should I wait for the 7 in 1?  I thought it would be better, so I can play around with Charcoal and propane?

Wecome to the forum. Don't you guys have a SAM's Club in Canada?  The  MES is a great unitif you can get ahold of one.Don't know what the shipping would be up there
