Hi Everyone,

New guy here that got a new 14.5" WSM! I've already got two cooks on it (chicken quarters both times) and its been great.

Can't wait to absorb the wealth of knowledge that I've read on here!

The only disappointment you could have with that smoker is you didn't buy bigger;). I thought the 18.5 would be big enough. Welcome to the forum.

Well in my defense my wife surprised me with it and was going to get the 18.5" but the salesman told her the 14.5" would be plenty for a family of two!

What kind of salesman "down"sells?!

Congrats on your new smoker. That little guy will serve you well. I know my mini-WSM's are perfect for our family. Fitting a full brisket or rack of ribs can be a challenge but there's ways around that.

I was wondering about a full brisket. I saw on another site that the weber rib rack or brinkmann racks fit like a champ and can hold 3-4 half racks

You can fit partial racks that way, not full racks or full racks of spares. A full rack is too long, at least the ones I but are about 20"-24". Cut in half you can get them in. Another method is to roll them and stand them on end.

For a brisket you really need to separate the point and the flat and use two grates.
