I got a Traeger for fathers day. my wife got nervous when I showed her the plans for my "homemade" smoker. I have to say I do like the simplicity of the pellet fed. This is a great site. I love the Q-VIEW. now if I can get one of my kids to show me how to post some pics I'll be happy. I've got my eye on a butt at Sams for this weekend. Them fattie things sound awesome, may throw a couple of them on also. I hope to be chiming in occasionally. see ya around.

Welcome to SMF glad you joined us. There is some great looking Qview posted here as well as some great info. I suggest taking Jeff's 5 Day Ecourse as well lots of good stuff there and its free. Go buy that butt and look over the "Basic pulled pork" thread in the Pork section and get smoking it will come out great and if you want even better add the "finishing sauce" listed right there by the pulled pork thread. Welcome to the SMF. You sure got a nice unit to start with. Stick around here and you will pick up all kinds of knowledge in no time. Of course, you do have to practice. And this is hopefully where you post pics of your smokey goodness for us all to see. Pineywoods hit the nail on the head. The sticky in the pork forum on pulled pork is the method I follow for pulled pork. I am going to do a butt this weekend and I am going to try the finishing sauce he was talking about. I thought it was Meowey's but I think it is in fact SoFlaQuer's. Anyways, good luck and hope to hear more from you later.
