Hey guys!!

New guy here from Albuquerque doin the newbie thing and introducing myself.  Been Grilling (propane) for about 28 years and Smoking for a little over 2 now.

My current system is a CoS Brinkmann Smokin' Pit that I received for Father's Day about 4--5 years ago but didn't start using for Smoking until about 2 years ago. Figured I didn't have the "time" to smoke meat.  Man, lots of lost years and great food with that train of thought.  I understand the restrictions and drawbacks of this design and will be making almost all of the known mods for this type of grill here soon.

I got Jeff's book Smoking Meat for Christmas this year, and I know I spent a couple hours a day the week following reading that book.  Really ramped up my desire to jump to the next level.  I even ended up smoking a Turkey for the first time the Saturday after in 22 degree weather LOL.  THAT forced me to see the design flaws in the horizontal offset and will remedy as I said above.

Anyway, here are some pix of my past work...always have a crowd show up when they hear "I'm smoking this weekend"  ha ha

When I'm not out grilling, I'm hanging with the family (wife and 2 older teen age boys), Wrenching on my 65 Corvair Corsa Convertible, or playing my trumpet (38 years).

That's probably more that you wanted to know, but there it is.

Thanks for having me!

Russ
