    Hey folks quick question
I just got replacement cooking grills for my Klose offset.
They are really oily and mark up my hands with black gunk. Should I do a empty smoke before I use them on food?
    Thanks for the help!
  2. Hello.  Welcome.  I see this is your first post.  Please take some time and swing over to Roll Call and introduce yourself so that we may give you a proper "Hello".  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  As for your question:  you have 3 options.  That oil is not something you want on your food , it is machine oil.  Option 1 is take them to the bath.  As hot a water as you can stand ( washing up gloves will help ) and give them a good scrub with Dawn dishsoap.  Rinse and repeat.  Option2.  Put them in your dishwasher on the highest heat wash twice, remove and then run your dishwasher at LEAST once more to make sure all that oil is out of the dishwasher.  Option 3:  Build a good fire in anything you have and burn that oil off.  Afterward you can wipe them done with paper towels and then put in the dishwasher before first use.  If it were me I would chose 1 or 3.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.
