Hey everyone! My name is Phill, I'm retired (old truck driver and equipment operator) and loving it! I grew up watching my dad smoke salmon on our ranch. The smoker we used there was a 55 gallon drum firebox buried in the ground sideways with a stovepipe ran to a smokhouse about the size of a single station outhouse. Made great salmon! My smoker is a small electric one (size of a big chief) that is insulated. This is what I use for salmon. I am using my propane barbeque for smoking everything else (pork butt, turkey, chicken, etc.) that I put a chip box in for the smoke. It works great but I want to upgrade to a Traeger some day. I'm not really an experienced smoker but I'm also not afraid to try. My first "pulled pork" came out awesome. Must be beginner's luck... My wife loved it. That's all that matters... I like to shoot, collect guns, fish, and do some 'q-ing!
