Just getting started with the smoking thing.... would love some suggestions on things I will need to make my experience pleasant.  I dont have a smoker (YET) but want to give it a try.  Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

First off, Welcome to SMF. Glad to have ya.

Don't know what kind of smoking you would like to do, whether with gas, electric, charcoal, or wood.

If you were wanting electric, I would suggest the MES 40" with an AMNPS. (A-Maze-N-Pellet-Smoker).

This is what I use and have found that it is almost a completely "no fail" way of smokin.

Other then that, I couldn't say, but I am sure there will be others along that can tell ya

about the other types of smokers.

Happy Smokin

Mike

First off welcome Daniel to SMF. You'll like this place for there are alot of folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. You will find alot of good recipes and techniques here also. so with all that said:

Welcome to your new Addiction.

Welcome! As for smokers, it all depends on how much time and attention you will be able to put in. Wood and charcoal are more labor intensivve, but some swear by them for as the purist smoking options. Propane and electric are more set and forget versions, but still require some tending. It is just what fits your lifestyle and cooking style.
