New to the group, My name is Tom and have been grillin for a while with a little smoke experience. Used indirect smoke on my ghetto grill for the last couple years than inherited an actual meco charcoal water smoker from my dad. Used for four weekends in a row, smoked mostley ribs, but did a standing rib that was unbelieveable. Just got a masterbuilt electric (I needed size and convienece). Cant wait to use the electric during our cleveland winter. I have lurked around here for about a month and finally joined just because i have to many quetions. One bonus for me also is that my father has been a butcher for 43 years so when i want something good its only a phone call and an invite away.

Warm welcome to SMF, Tom! Glad to have you join us. If you're new to the smoking gig, may I suggest the free 5-day ecourse offered through the site? That may help with some of the basic questions that are floating around, or may not have even thought to ask about.

Good luck, and look forward to your future posts and qvue!
