Lived most of my life in Tulsa, OK and got used to good ribs and brisket. I live in Mooresville, NC now and can't get much besides pulled pork...

Started with a Brinkmann electric, the heating element broke so I replaced it with an adjustable one from an electric grill. Works great for controlling temp.

Recently upgraded to a MasterBuilt digital electric.

Welcome to SMF. Isnt Mooresville where alot of Nascar teams are located?

Welcome to smf. I have been to Mooresville back in 2006. I was a particapant in Dale Earnhardt Days at DEI hq. Great time. Sad to see how the old Cannon textile mill was being demolished. That facility was enormous!! Just a sad illustration of what has happened to American industry. We ate at a place called the Roadhouse in Mooresville. They had some great Q and steaks!!

Toured most of the other race shops in the area as well. Some great weather too. Anyhow welcome aboard!!

Welcome Ryan. I am about 30 minutes northeast of you and also a transplant. Beef isn't very common outside of burgers down here. SMF you will find is very helpful in all manner of smoking, bbq, and other related cooking.

I've got some great ideas for advanced QView. I'm going to pick up a couple of these.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Linksys-WVC11B-w...item4a9d2cf5ba

Point one at the control panel so I can monitor from inside without having to go check and another on the window.

You can view them from your home network and also make them viewable from the internet. There are newer, faster cams out there but these are cheap and easy..

I also thought about making an extension cable to bring the control panel of the MasterBuilt inside.

So I realized after trying to post a couple replies that the forum software thinks I'm a spammer because of too many posts in a short time.

If the mods catch this you can delete my repeat and this one..

I'm used to being the mod, not the mod'd..

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks here and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.
