I stumbled upon this place when looking to build a smoker.  I currently smoke on a very worn down weber kettle and am looking to build something new out of it.  I typically smoke ribs and brisket.  If anyone has advise on repurposing a weber kettle I started a thread in the other builds forum and would appreciate advise.  Thanks.

Hey Infanej! Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are already a seasoned smoker (pun intended), so I look forward to seeing some Brisket pics!

If you get a chance, please check out the Michigan members group (link in my signature block below) and join up. We love to discuss all things smoking related in our region.

    Take care

Welcome to the board! Maybe we need a Show Us Your Beater Weber thread if there isn't one already.

My first-ever smokes were on a legless Weber that sat in a wheel rim like a ball in a socket. It was abandoned behind a house and it looked like it was still fairly new - maybe someone fell on it and broke the legs?

The wooden handles have rotted off of mine.

Mine is pretty bad but it still serves a purpose.  Making a UDS seems like the right thing to do with it but don't really want something that big.  Looks like I may do a mini-WSM since it looks like it cost under $100.  I'm not sure what I would do with the 22.5 kettle.
