Just about to purchase my first smoker. My old kettle grill finally died and have been considering a smoker instead. I have been looking at the charbroil silver smoker at homedepot for $159.00. Any thoughts? I read mixed reviews. Some folks seem to love it while others call it cheapo junk.?????Would I be wasting my money on it?

Welcome Kyhunt -

I do beleive there's a thread here somewhere about mods for that smoker. Do a search and see what's neeeded.

on the silver pro by charbroil, does anyone know what kind of themometor will fit in that little hole on the hood? I see where they make a universal themometer for gas grills that you can buy seperately. Will that work????
