Hi all,

Over the past few days I've been reading a lot of information on the Gen II MES 40, which I'll be receiving today from QVC.  Side note, it's been my first experience from QVC, and quite possibly my last.

Nevertheless, I was able to pickup the MES 40 for $250.

I have some experience with smoking on a gas grill, but looking forward to diving head first with a unit built for smoking.

Hello Brian, and welcome to the site. Never ordered anything from QVC, let us know how that turns out. Be sure and post pictures, ask questions and let everyone know how your first smoke turns out.

Correction:  I've actually got the Gen 1 MES 30.

Not quite what I thought I was receiving, but still quite pleased.

I received my smoker earlier today, and unfortunately the connector for the meat probe was MIA.  Calling in the AM to have a new one sent out.  I was able to season the smoker tonight, and it performed rather well.  I had several thermometers inside on the different racks, and they all seemed to be within 10 degrees of one another.
