I am totally new to smoking. I don't even have a smoker yet. I had been researching on which one to get when I found this forum. After several weeks of looking things over I believe it is going to be an electic one because I am lazy...just kidding, because I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands so I have to use something that won't take much time.

I did get the e-course and signed up for the newsletter and have been looking through back newsletters. I really can't wait to get a smoker and try it.

First off welcome to SMF there Becky. As far as smokers I would recommend the smoke vault 24" gasser. It's that easy believe me. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Welcome To Your New Addiction

Hello Becky and welcome to SMF and the wonderful world of smoking! I still consider myself a newbie and I love the knowledgeable people and info that are here. I have an MES 30 and love, love, love it! Good luck with the smoker choice!

Yes, I am looking at the MES right now. So much information that it is kind of hard to wade through it all. I am pretty sure this is the one I am going to get though.

Welcome to SMF Becky! The MES is a great choice & Sam's Club sells the 40" with window & remote for $299.

Welcome to the family,

Great group of folks here, lots of knowledge of all forms of meat smoking and preservation.

Gee, lots of "moderation" here.

Anyway, $299 is more than I have to spend so will have to get the cheap model first and SAMS club is all the way in Augusta and I can't drive in Augusta.

Nepas I believe I am a member of your blog now as well. My sons are both in the Army as well. One is stationed at Ft. Hood and the other is just home from Germany and stationed at Ft. Campbell.
