Hi everyone -

I could have sworn I had some posts on this site a few years back, but I moved and got busy with other stuff for a while, bla bla bla... anyway, I can't seem to find my username, so I will (re)introduce myself. Born in Georgia, raised in North Carolina, spent time in Texas, and now living in Los Angeles, CA. Monrovia, to be exact, just east of Pasadena.

I am relatively new to smoking meat... used to roast whole hogs with direct charcoal back in NC and picked up the smoking bug in San Antonio. I have a super-cheap smoker that I bought of craigslist for $50, and I painted it chevy engine block orange. Works out okay, but I am planning some unique (I think) new mods to it, which I would love everyone's input on, of course. And then of course, maybe someday... someday... a sweet trailer-mounted beast.

Looking forward to it. great folks on this board. Attached some photos too.

Welcome to the site, or welcome back i should say.
You're not crazy, you most likely did have a few posts on herre but about a year ago there was a crash, things we don't like to talk about-The crash that shall not be named...
Anyway, glad to have you back on board.

sorry to bring up a sore subject. although much less enjoyable by a million miles, computers have one similarity with meat ---- they have a mind of their own, and sometimes things go bad for no particular reason... just because.

Hey Fatcap welcome back. Glad to see more of us in So Ca coming to the SMF. Richoso is pretty close to you. As they say just jump in and have fun

No worries, was only joking. But there was a crash, lots of info and posts were lost but I wasn't around for that, I ended up joining only a few weeks after things were up and running again.

Welcome back.I love that chevy orange when i used to do a lot of engine work-great idear on the UDS or any smoker...Nothing like a whole hog...

Whether you're new or returning, welcome to the SMF. Nice foothill region you live in, I'll be looking forward to your next smoke and Q too.

Hmmm how about the firebox high temperature aluminum to look like shiny new headers coming off that small block Khevy? Welcome back again Fatcap, hopefully your next posts will not be MIA.
