Howdy All-

I'm new to posting on the SMF but I've been reading for a number of years.

I'm located in northern Colorado Springs, at 7300ft elevation, which has been a smoking challenge thus far.

Started off smoking on a New Braunfels black diamond I picked up from a neighbors garage sale.  Have had some great success on this smoker especially in the summer.

Dabbled in making sausage over the last 4-5 years with Kitchen Aid grinder and stuffer.  This last round I recently made up 35 lbs of pork and antelope sausage and got frustrated when it came time to stuff.  So, after 5lbs I ran down the street and overpaid for a LEM 5lb vertical stuffer from the Pro fish store.

Then...

Attempted  to smoke on the NB when it was 14* outside.  Varied results and temperatures ensued (turned out good though) and lead me to purchase a MES 40" (on order).

I plan on getting the AMPS 12" tube smoker which appears to work better than the maze at altitude.

Good to finally post and happy to be here.

Welcome to SMF, Jack!

Glad to have you with us!

If you have been using a KA grinder & stuffer for 5 years. God bless you.

I have a LEM stuffer too. Steel gears, can't beat that.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a sunny and chilly day in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
