  1. Started building a RF Smoker out of a 80 gallon air tank with the help of Bryon and my father in law. Now I've never welded before so this is all knew to me. Hope to get more done this weekend!

Here is the tank and the fire box.

  2. Looks as though you are off to a great start...[IMG]

  3. Looks good to me. How much did you pick up your tank for? How thick is the firebox steel? thx, I am trying to price it all out to build my own myself. keep it up!

  4. Keep the qview coming. Looks great so far. This site sure is an inspiration!

Nice job and I'll be looking forward to more as you continue your build!!!!!!!

  6. I picked up for 30 dollars. The firebox is 1/8 inch thick.

  7. Niniron, your firebox in 3/16" thick. 1/8" might burn out or warp pretty quick. Nice job on the welding! You will be a pro soon!

One thing you can try to do to stop warp-age is to put x bracing across the sides and top and bttm. I would think 1/8th will warp on ya. Or go a little further and make it a insulated fire box by building another box around it with 1" insulation.

    Nice start ![IMG]

  9. I meant 3/16. Thankyou Bryon for correcting my mistake once again[IMG].

  10. No problem Buddy [IMG]

  11. I meant 3/16 not 1/8 I don't know what I was thinking.

  12. Looks good. I would recommend you change that handle to some wood. It will remain cooler to the touch when cooking.[IMG]
