I remembered to check with everythin but the bin itself but I've had a few things outta it so far and nothin wrong wit me haha. It works well and once I get the timings and stuff rite should be very gd for the summer comin in.

Hello Jase and Welcome to the forum. GREAT design!  My friend Gary S makes a good point.  I suspect that if it was galvanized, the galvanize on your dust bin was pretty thin and you "accidentally" burned it off bringing it up to temp.  You dodged a bullet!  Galvanize poisoning is a NASTY thing.  Now that you have found and joined us please feel free to ask any and all questions.  Safety brief over.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Cheers for the help Danny. So should be gd to keep smokin then as the galvanised layer burns off?

Hello Jase.  Can't say too much for you testing method, I haven't died yet so must be ok; but yes I would continue to use it.  Even mild galvanise poisoning feels like you have a hang over and you were in a fight with 3 BIG men; and you LOST!  You ache in places you didn't even know you had.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!
