I was at Bass Pro shops yesterday. I saw a BB GOSM, I immediately grabbed it,being an upgrade from my smallest gosm. I talked to the dept manager, she said they will be getting these in from now on. We know GOSM went under, but LandMann Co. bought them out. She didn't know if the name was going to be the same or not. So now us gassers have some hope for a gosm

Get'er seasoned up and post some pics. You'll be amazed at the amount of meat you can fit in there.

It is 36"H x 16"D x 24"W. Just seasoned it and now ready to smoke, but we are suppose to get snow tomorrow, so I will have to wait. I had the smaller gosm . What would fit in that whole smoker will fit on just one of these racks.

Very cool. Can I ask what they are selling it for? I'd love to see a picture of it.

Congrats on the new GOSM

I was suprised when the local Bass Pro guy said he had 5 of them in stock. I bought mine about 3 or 4 weeks ago from them. bought a MES at the same time since they were on sale. Let us know how she smokes!

Boy I'm starting to feel pretty good about the one I picked up at Wal Mart a couple weeks ago. In the Bass Pro link the big one was 36 inches high by 24 wide and 16 deep. Mine is 43 inches tall 20 wide and 14 deep. I bought the last one they had so it was put together and they had it marked down to $99. A guy I know that was with me bought another one that was slightly smaller then mine and he paid $88.

I see the ones in the link have a push button start. Mine has a knob you turn to start it. The book that came with mine showed 8 different models and only 2 of them had the turn knob to start, the rest were push button.

Jeanie, I actually seasoned it on sat.On sunday made 2 slabs of baby backs and 2 slabs of spare ribs. This is 2x's the size(close to it) of the smaller one I had. Now I don't have to cut the slabs in half to fit. I have no Q view

next time I will.

Reinman, I have the same model as you,but found it was quickly becoming too small. I bought mine from HOBO's for $69 last year on clearance. It is a great smoker. Never had a problem with it. Too hard to fit slabs of ribs, plus all the extras'. With all the great ideas here, it's not hard to run out of room trying them.

Congrats on getting a great smoker. The small GOSM unit got me started 2 years ago. Then I stumbled on to this forum....been having fun ever since. I'm still a newbie. The tips from the seasoned members here are invaluable.

"LandMann Co. bought them out".

Music to my ears! I'm gonna research that name to see if I can get the parts I need for my GOSM.

Thanks,

Brian

Congrats on the new smoker, you won't regret it. It's all good my firend.

I bought myself a big block yesterday at Bass Pro to replace my small GOSM. I love the improvements that Landmann has made to the line. It now comes with a nice big heavy duty wood box and huge water pan. It also has a rack that the wood box sits on so you can just slide it out to change the wood. It also has a grease tray that covers the whole bottom of the smoker that can be slid out and cleaned off easily. Mine does have one weld on a rack track that was broken, but I am going to call them tomorrow to see what they will do about it. The Bass Pro I bought it at is 200 miles away, so returning it really isn't an option. I'll keep you updated on how they handle it.
Nate
