Hello all, I am new to this site, and a professional chef/restaurant owner in Charlottesville, Va. Although I own an Italian restaurant, I'm infatuated with smoked meats and the cooking  process that goes with. I had a cheap store bought offset that leaked smoke and heat like crazy but still managed to make some decent BBQ on it. Time to upgrade, sold it, and am now looking for a stick burner in the $1000- $1500 range (unfortunately that includes shipping which makes it tough that I'm in Virginia). Tried local fabricators, didn't work out.

Any advice would be helpful, I'm looking and emailing several builders as we speak.I'm just looking for something in the 20"by36" range to cook for family and friends.

Although I've been cooking professionally for many many years, when it comes to smoking, I'm sure (and hopeful) I can learn a lot from many of you. Thank you.

Welcome aboard! I had an uncle who lived in the Keswick area...heaven on earth, the Charlottesville area. The people here are great and helpful. I just have a WSM so I'm not going to be much help, but interested in what you decide on. Good luck and enjoy!
