I got a smoker for Christmas, masterbuilt gas smoker. I attempted to go through the initial set up and cleaning process and I could only get the chips to smoke for a short period of time before they would catch fire. So I attempted soaking the chips for about 5 hours before putting them in the smoker with it turned to low and the chips only lasted about an hour before they were completely burnt out. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and need help from start to finish. I have no idea how to make my chip last for hours, let alone how to smoke meat for hours on end. open to any and all advise everyone out there has to try and get me smoking!!
